Our waterfront cottages, situated directly on West Lake, offer a cozy and intimate atmosphere with a range of activities and amenities for your enjoyment. Our private deck and dock provide direct water access, in addition to a relaxing destination to watch the sunset over the lake each evening.

  • Guests are entitled to a full refund for cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled check-in.

    Cancellations made between 30 and 7 days before check-in are eligible for a 50% refund.

    A pay-per-use laundromat located a short 3-minute walk from our property.

    Kayak, canoe, bicycle and paddleboard rentals are available for a per day fee.

  • Yes, we love well-behaved dogs! Dogs require registration and are welcome to stay for a $50 per pet fee.

  • Check-in
    Guests receive a check-in link via email five days prior to their stay that includes a unique electronic door code to access the cottage. Check-in is at 4 PM.

    Check-out
    Guests are kindly asked to dispose of all trash, compost and recycling at the on-site waste center and lock the door behind them. We’ll take care of the rest! Check-out is at 11 AM.

  • We offer on-site garbage, compost and recycling disposal.

  • Yes! The Birch is conveniently located in downtown Wellington, which is home to a variety of restaurants, shops and services. Guests can enjoy a relaxing 12-minute walk to the centre of town (or a brief 2-minute drive).

    Guests can enjoy all that downtown Picton has to offer (a comfortable 17-minute drive).

  • For the comfort and privacy of all reserved guests, visitors or unregistered guests are not permitted.

  • Emergency services are available 24/7 by dialling 9-1-1. Guests are provided our emergency contact information during check-in for urgent after-hours concerns.

  • We provide guests with complementary, high-speed internet access during their stay. Our property enjoys excellent cell phone reception as well.

  • Each cottage has a private propane barbeque (grill) for guests to enjoy. Our cottages have wood-burning fireplaces. There is no fire pit available on site.

  • We ask everyone to be mindful of fellow guests, as our cottages represent an opportunity to escape to the peaceful and serene West Lake. Loud music and parties are prohibited.

  • Each cottage comes with at least one parking spot. When you arrive please park in the numbered spot that matches the cottage on your reservation.

  • We have kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and bikes available for rent. Please email us at stay@thebirchcottages.com or text us at 613-399-2250 for more information and to make reservations.

  • We kindly ask our guests to be mindful of other people and our environment while enjoying their stay at The Birch. This includes turning off lights and air conditioning when leaving the cottages, as well as the proper disposal of garbage, compost and recycling.
